Message: We just returned from our second wonderful stay at the 1740 House. We made a last-minute booking and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience here. The staff were so warm and welcoming, thank you Judy, Susan, and Pam for your hospitality! Our room had a comfy king-sized bed with beautiful linens, and opened to the lovely patio on the river. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and we hated to leave this wonderful place. We will be back!

Message: We wanted a winter getaway, and the 1740House was the perfect choice. We brought our dog and stayed in room #2. We loved the old building and the setting next to the river was beautiful. Our bed was firm and we slept great. Good was okay (nothing special), but you can’t beat the ambiance!

Message: Incredible views, delicious menus, the best staff and team in the entire area – 1740 House was the one and only place my husband and I wanted to have our rehearsal dinner. Having grown up in the new hope area we knew we wanted to something local to honor where we came from and where we met. 1740 House was the perfect option. We would give them 10 stars if possible! It is hard to put into words just how grateful we are to the team at 1740 for all they did for us during our event. The night was incredible fun, relaxing, delicious, beautiful, and bountiful! It was everything we hoped it would be, and more. Our friends and family are still raving about everything on our menu, six months later.. Thank you, Chuck, Ronnie, Cortney, Michelle, and the entire team on canal for a night we will always remember with love and laughter. YOU ARE THE GOATS. <3.

Message: Really lovely place! Beutiful view of the river and lovely quant rooms! The only negative was the attitude of the woman working as the expediter in the kitchen. We pre ordered our breakfast meal and when my partner went to pick it up there was one tray sitting on the table and the staff told him that was his tray. When he got back to the room I realized the tray was for another room. I went to return it and told the lady what had happened and she said “we have been looking for this tray, why did you take it?” I explained to her what happened and she said “we would not have told him to take that tray”. I waited for five minutes until I said, are you going to give us another tray. She said we are printing a menu out for you. I waited another almost 10 minutes and asked her if I could have the menu, she said “you are going to have to wait we are very busy”. The place was lovely, the rest of the staff was great, however, the three stars reflects the one staff member that did not have hospitality skills, and resulted in us not having breakfast.

Message: We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party at 1740 House and have nothing but great things to say about our entire experience with Ron and the team there. We worked with Ron over the course of a year after reaching out to host our friends and family with them the night before our wedding. He was so accommodating and responsive throughout the entire 12 months. We were invited in to tour at any time and every email and question was responded to in detail. The restaurant and Inn are so charming and the views of the river are absolutely beautiful. They offer a few different options for special event menus, but we chose the Bucks County BBQ menu. The food was absolutely delicious and the menu, although BBQ themed, provided vegan & vegetarian options for non-meat eaters as well. The space was setup exactly how we had requested with a scattered cocktail style arrangement, but provided ample space and seating for our group to comfortably sit and eat after some time spent mingling with drinks. Our guests raved about the dinner and, those that stayed overnight (including ourselves), also had such wonderful things to say about the Innkeepers and the rooms as well. Thank you, Ron & team at 1740! We can't recommend you all enough!

Message: We had such a great stay, even if it was for a night! Beautiful views, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Reception at the front desk was very kind as well!

Message: Absolutely delightful. Stayed for a wedding and had a wonderful time. Delicious breakfast, helpful staff and a view to die for. Couldn't recommend a place more. Wonderful. You will not regret a stay. (Also, as a Buddhist I was shocked when there local guide included the nearest Buddhist center. Never encountered that on the east coast before. Shows their true attention to detail. ).
